Jack Hutchinson founded Mutual Construction in 1950 and built the company into a well-respected general contracting company. Projects included mainly commercial and institutional structures throughout the Fraser Valley. In 1970, Bob Hutchinson took the reigns and focused mainly on the industrial sector with both civil and pipeline divisions. At this point, Mutual was working in most of the major industrial facilities around the Burrard Inlet.

Today, Mutual has significantly diversified the company into a full service general contractor with a strong focus towards design/build and turnkey civil industrial projects.
